I don't know if it's just me or what, but I have the hardest time sitting still. I seem to always need to be doing something. I'm sure it drives my Dear Hubby nuts that I'm sewing away while we are watching tv, but I always seem to have a project or two going.
When I was younger, I loved to do Cross Stitch, but I got tired of just having pretty pictures on my walls. I wanted the things that I make to "do" something. They needed to be useful too.
When I found Plastic Canvas, it was the perfect answer to my problems. I could sit and sew without too much thought and make useful items for my home or parties.
I needed a new project last week, so I designed up these cute plastic canvas Peeps Bunny Boxes. They are great for adding a little treat to the Easter baskets or as a party favor or an after-dinner treat.
It's a pretty easy pattern to sew. I made mine in a little over an hour.
Start by cutting out the bunny top and both side pieces. Sew the pieces in a basic continental stitch. Don't stitch the bottom (smaller) bunny shape.
Stitch the side piece to the top bunny to form a box shape. Repeat for the unstitched bottom bunny and the large side piece together.
Fill the Easter Peeps Bunny Box with your favorite treat. We filled ours with Skittles.
Told you it was a quick and easy project that will make a big impact in the Easter baskets this year.
