Celebrate Christmas with Mary, the mother of Jesus in this Christmas Nativity Advent gift idea for your family, friends, and neighbors. Enjoy this music note sugar cookie recipe as you pray and sing with Mary to remember the Christ child this Christmas season.
I often wonder about Mary at Christmas time. I know she was a woman of great faith and integrity, but do you think she was terrified at times? Do you think she looked at her baby and wondered how in the world to be a mother to the son of God?
I look at my own children and wonder that each and every day. I worry that I am not raising them to the best of my ability. That I'm not encouraging the talents and destiny that they were sent to Earth to acomplish.
How much harder would it be knowing the great mission of Jesus?
I imagine that Mary prayed often for guidance and cuddled, sang, and loved her little boy just like the rest of us.
Mary is the eleventh day of our Nativity Advent gift idea. As the mother of Jesus, I imagine her saying:
I prayed in my heart to be a good mom
As I sang Him to sleep each night
Turn to Him in all that you do
As we pray for Heaven's might.
For Mary's sweet gift, I made these Music Note sugar cookies from Katrina's Kitchen's recipe.
I discovered these cookies last week, and have made them three times since then. They are that good (and I'm not usually a fan of sugar cookies!) But they are super moist, soft, and taste even better than store bought cookies.
To make them, you'll need:
1 cup butter, melted
1 cup sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 tsp baking soda
3 cups of flour
Mix and bake at 350 degrees for 6-8 minutes.
You can find the complete original recipe here.
Simply bake up the cookies, frost with a music note and add to a Christmas treat bag. Use Mary's poem to add a message of Christ to the Christmas gift and give away to your family, friends, and neighbors. You can print off the poem above or find all the tags here.
