I know it's been a long time since I started the excitement for the Mormon Family Feud game I did for my combined youth activity.  I am so thrilled with all the answers to the survey that I received, the support, and help I got to make this activity awesome.

I think one of my favorite parts of any party or get together is planning the food.  It's so much fun to think about what desserts, treats, and drinks to serve to my guests.  But what I love the most, is finding ways to turn favorite desserts into themed party treats for the big day.

Since I was serving about 25 rowdy kids from the ages of 12 to 18, I decided to keep my food to the basics that I knew they would like.

I ended up going with Hershey Kisses, Popcorn, Sugar Cookies, and Brownies.

Since part of the fun is "jazzing" up the treats, I turned the brownies into "Wrong Answer Frosted Brownies."

You could very easily use a store bought brownie mix and store bought frosting to make these, but I have been searching for a good home made brownie recipe for a while.  It seems all the ones I try just never taste quite as good as a box mix, but a few weeks ago, I stumbled across the Six Sisters fudgy brownie mix.

Let me tell you, this is a winner that will stay in my house and recipe book for a LONG time.  We loved it and are planning to make it again this week for another youth activity.

To make the brownies special, I have this Cookie Dough Scoop and put one scoop into a WELL GREASED cupcake/muffin tin.  (You need it well greased or the brownies are super hard to get out in one piece and kind of ruin the effect.)

Once I baked the brownie batter at 325 degrees for 8 minutes, I let them cool for a few minutes, popped them out, and let them cool completely on a baking rack.  You will need them completely cooled before you move on so the frosting doesn't melt.

I admit, I did use store bought frosting for the next part because I have a cupboard full of half used frosting cans thanks to my munchkins.  I placed some Cherry frosting and some Chocolate frosting in two sandwich bags, cut off the corners, and piped an x with a square around the edge of the brownie to resemble the "wrong answer" x that comes up during the game of Family Feud.

For the sugar cookies, I used this sugar cookie recipe from In Katrina's Kitchen.  If you follow me at all on Facebook, you may have seen me RAVING about these cookies.  They are super soft, easy to make, and so yummy.  My kids thought they tasted just like those expensive ones from Walmart and Sam's club that they are always begging me to buy.

I made the cookies into round circles and then dipped them into a royal frosting icing recipe.  I used:

2 1/2 cups powdered sugar
1/4 cup water
1 egg white

This makes a super runny frosting so it's easy to dip the top of the cookie into the icing and then let it dry hard.

These cookies became our "Push the Buzzer" sugar cookies.

We also served:

"100 People Surveyed" Hershey Kisses
"Lightening Round Pop (Question)" Corn
"No Sweat" water

I think the kids really liked everything since there wasn't anything left by the end of the night.

If you are planning your own Family Feud Game night, you are welcome to use my Family Feud table cards to create your own fun party food ideas.  They are a JPG file which can be cut and folded into a tent shape to stand on your dessert buffet table.
