Find fun activities around you that won't cost an arm and a leg by checking out off season tourist destinations. Colorado has some great summer family fun, like Copper Mountain!
When we first moved to Colorado, I heard a lot about the many mountains and skiing opportunities that were available. There was talk about all the river rafting and fun that involved.
But have you ever noticed how dang expensive those are? And if you are going to take your family along...well, better be prepared to rob a bank or something.
But, I am always looking for ways to create memories and have family fun with the kids. So I learned something pretty awesome....
You can go visit ski resorts in the summer!
Now obviously, you won't be skiing, but there are so many other fun ways to spend the day.
You can ride the ski lifts. You can go hiking. You can go zip lining. You can go bungee jumping. And so much more.
And it's not going to cost you an arm and a leg.
I had never thought of checking out local fun spots in the "off seasons".
Look around you and see if there are ways to have family fun around you where you least expected it!
(This part is a special announcement sponsored by The Village at Copper Pola and US Family Guide, but don't worry, it's still awesome!)
And if you're in Colorado, summer days are family days at Copper Mountain. Race around Summit County's only go kart track, ride a rugged scooter around the village, jump for joy on our bungee jump or invoke your inner Happy Gilmore on our mini golf course. We've got fun covered!
1) Free Chair lift fare when you spend $12 in the village. Kids under age 12 are free.
2) Kids Night Out on Fridays and Saturdays-5:30-10:00pm. Free when you spend $30 in the village
3) Copper Campfire and Fireworks - Every Saturday night- roast s'mores, while you hear campfire-style family friendly story teller or guitarist. * excluding July 4th because we are recommending for guests to attend the in-town celebration in Frisco.
4) Summer Family Friendly Events Galore- including Mac and Cheese Fest and Copper's Gone to The Dogs- see our event calendar
Do you have any local places that are cheaper in the off season? Let me know in the comments because I'd love to check them out!
