Resources

Here are some of my favorite resources for the party and craft projects that I make and share.  I hope that it helps you to craft your next party or memory with me!

If you are looking on how to create your own blog to share your crafts and ideas, don't be pressured into the mindset that you have to be on Wordpress and spend LOTS of money.  You don't.  Check out my favorite resources at the bottom of the resource page!

How to Make Candy Bar Cards

  • Let me show you step by step how to wrap one of our printable candy bar wrappers in a DIY video.

  • With the brown wrappers that Hershey now wraps it's candy bars with, these foil candy bar wrappers make your candy bar wrappers look so much nicer.  You can easily fold the foil piece around the candy bar wrapper and leave a beautiful canvas to wrap your printable around for a pretty candy bar card gift.  Foil wrappers are available in almost any color to match your candy bar printable.

  • This is my favorite photo paper to print candy bar wrappers onto.  The paper is thin enough to easily wrap around candy bars, and the glossy color makes your wrappers pop.

  • I don't know what I did without this paper trimmer before I got it.  It's probably one of my favorite paper crafting tools.  I use it for just about every craft I make.  The lines are easy to follow for a cut that is exactly where you want it and clean and sharp.  The rulers keep your cuts to exact size, especially with the extendable ruler for larger cuts.

How to Make Hershey Kiss Candies

  • I've never found a template or print that lined up as perfectly as a hole punch does.  It was easiest for me to remove the back on the hole punch so you could see to line up the hole on the paper and punch.
  • There are several ways to use the free kiss stickers that I share here on the blog.  One of the ways is to print the design on to full size sticker paper and then use the 3/4 inch circle punch to cut out the candy prints.
  • Another way to make the Kiss Candy Stickers is to use a Xyron to turn the printable into stickers.  You can run the printable through the sticker maker before you cut out the designs or after.  Either way, using the adhesive cartridges make the stickers work beautifully for your party needs.

How to make Candy Bag Toppers

  • Our candy toppers are available in several sizes for any size bag.  My favorite size bag is the 3x4 inch size.  There is so much you can do with this size as the candy isn't too much for a serving size, and it's a great party favor treat.

How to Start a Blog

I don't talk a whole lot about the science behind blogging because I'd rather focus on the fun, but far to often I hear people being "scammed" into thinking they have to spend lots of money to be on a private server or they don't "own" their own content and can be shut down at any time.  Don't buy into that.  You can be super successful and make lots of money on BlogSpot, without all the hassels, hacks, and troubles of a "private" hosted site.

Create your own blog at BlogSpot.com.  Be sure to think long and hard about your blog's name.  While you can change it, it's so much easier to start off on the right foot with something that defines what you want to write about and who you want to talk to.

Purchase your Domain Name from Go Daddy.  Have the name redirected to your BlogSpot blog so that it's easier to share with friends you meet.

Create an account at Pinterest.  Pinterest is the biggest referrer to most blogs out there.  You want to be able to share your own blog posts as well as other things that are relevant in your niche.
If you want to monetize your blog, you need to decide the best way to do this.  There are many, many, many ways, you just need to be creative and decide what works best for you.  Some of the ways I monetize are:
  • Printables Store.  I sell some of the party printables that I design to help my friends and community create awesome parties at low cost.
  • Ads.  Google AdSense is the easiest way to get started.
  • Affiliate Income.  Often times when I refer a product by telling you about something that I have used to create a project, I will link to it on Amazon or one of my other favorite stores.  I may get a small percentage from the company as a thank you.  I never refer a product that I don't use or don't believe is something that I would buy and use myself.
